As a young professional, Emma Reze leads a fast paced life. Acne was never going to stand in the way of her success, but it was something she longed to find a solution for.
“As a scientist, I’m curious – I’m always questioning why things are the way they are. I’d been struggling with acne for nearly a year and was determined to get to the bottom of what was causing it and find a way to effectively treat it,” said Emma.
After trying numerous products and skin care regimes with no results, an internet search in late 2009 led Emma to her first consultation with Marian Rubock. She felt an immediate connection with Marian’s scientific and holistic approach.
“Marian is great at problem solving. As a scientist, I appreciate the time Marian takes to consider all of the variables that could be contributing to my skin problems.”
“Marian’s nursing and clinical background impressed me, I can relate to her treatments, because she explains them to me in a way that’s scientifically logical. It’s comforting to know how well-researched Marian is and by understanding the science behind her treatments, it gives me great confidence going forward.”
Through consultation with Marian, Emma realised that diet was contributing to her acne problem, or at least holding her back from recovery.
“With recommendations from Marian, I’ve altered my diet by essentially increasing protein and decreasing sugars, dairy and carbohydrates. I’ve also introduced supplements into my diet and I am more aware of what foods have a positive or negative effect on my skin.”
“Being a vegetarian meant it was harder to ensure my body was getting everything it needed to build and repair cells. It’s Marian’s personalised holistic approach, not just the products and treatments, which sets her apart from others. I think it’s great that with Marian’s help, not only is my acne almost gone, but I feel like I am much healthier overall.”
With new dietary measures in place, Emma first visited Marian Rubock Clinic fortnightly, alternating between a new micro-current mask and peel treatments.
Marian’s newly designed micro-current mask targets specific problem areas of the skin and normalises the behaviour of these cells to treat and improve the appearance of skin that has undergone trauma of some kind, such as acne.
The skin peel treatment removes layers of dead skin cells, encouraging the growth of new cells and a smoother appearance.
Since commencing both treatments at the Marian Rubock Clinic late last year, Emma has noticed a marked improvement in the appearance of her skin. She has also reduced the frequency of her visits to once every three or four weeks.
“My skin is less red and I have fewer break-outs. Marian and I recently looked at photos of my skin before the treatment. It’s amazing how far I’ve come. My skin still isn’t quite where I’d like it to be, but the main thing is that, with Marian’s help, the acne cycle has been broken. I feel positive moving forward from this point.”
“Marian has made me realise that my skin is a complex organ and that dealing with acne is a lifestyle issue that will take ongoing care.”
Emma will continue to visit Marian Rubock Clinic for micro-current and peel treatments, reducing the frequency of her visits each time.
She will continue to manage her diet and use Marian’s all natural skincare products as part of an ongoing skincare regime.
